Why Bodhi Legal
What Sets This Practice Apart
There are several legal offices in Bangkok that handle pension matters among other work. Bodhi Legal does only this. That focus, and what follows from it, is the difference worth understanding.

Six qualities that inform every engagement at Bodhi Legal.
Pension-Only Practice
We do not handle commercial disputes, property matters, or employment law. Pension legal defence is the entirety of our work.
Written Record of Everything
Every assessment, correspondence, and available option is summarised in a document the client keeps. Nothing is verbal only.
Plain-Language Communication
Legal language is translated into plain terms. Technical expressions are explained wherever they appear in client documents.
Fixed, Stated Fees
Each service has a single stated fee, confirmed in writing before work begins. Clients are not surprised by additional charges.
Supervised Personally
The supervising solicitor remains personally involved in each file. Client matters are not handed off to junior staff.
Family Involvement Welcome
Written summaries are designed to be shared. Family members may attend meetings. We aim to ensure no one is left uncertain about the situation.
Specialist Knowledge of Pension Law
Pension law sits at the intersection of employment history, administrative process, and authority correspondence — a combination that generalist firms rarely spend extended time within. At Bodhi Legal, all work is focused here, which means the patterns that appear across pension disputes are familiar to the team in a way they simply cannot be in a broader practice.
- Eligibility and contribution period analysis
- Administrative reinstatement procedures
- Tribunal preparation and representation
- Plain-language entitlement analysis
"The assessment note they produced was the first document that explained the situation clearly enough for my wife and I to understand what had happened and what we could do."
— Former client, documentary review service
"At each stage we knew what to expect, when to expect it, and what the outcome meant. That kind of structure made a difficult process much easier to manage."
— Former client, reinstatement support service
A Clear Process, Communicated at Each Stage
Each service at Bodhi Legal follows a defined process that is explained to the client in writing before work begins. The client is informed of the expected structure, the likely timeline, and what each stage involves. When outcomes are communicated, the explanation is provided in writing, along with a note on what options remain.
- Written scope and timeline before engagement begins
- Interim updates during active correspondence periods
- Written outcome explanation after each authority decision
Client Service Adapted to the Individual
Many of the individuals who contact Bodhi Legal are navigating pension matters at a stage of life when decisions feel consequential. The pace of an engagement is adapted to the client — not to a standard office processing schedule. Remote meetings are available. Family members may attend. Written summaries are designed to be shared and re-read.
- Remote meetings available where preferred
- Thai language interpretation available on request
- Family members welcome at meetings
- No pressure to proceed at any stage
"They did not rush anything. When I needed time to discuss a decision with my daughter, that was accommodated without any difficulty."
— Former client, tribunal representation service
All fees confirmed in writing before work begins. No additions beyond the agreed amount.
Stated Fees, No Surprises
Each of Bodhi Legal's three services has a fixed fee that is stated clearly before any engagement begins. The scope of what the fee covers is confirmed in writing. Clients are not billed for internal meetings, minor correspondence reviews, or other activities that fall within the normal scope of the service.
Where a matter turns out to be more complex than initially apparent, this is discussed openly with the client before any additional work is undertaken.
Bodhi Legal vs General Legal Offices
A factual comparison of what clients typically find when working with a pension-specialist practice versus a general law office handling pension matters among many others.
| Aspect | General Legal Office | Bodhi Legal |
|---|---|---|
| Focus on pension law | ||
| Fixed, stated fee per service | ||
| Written summary of every assessment and outcome | Varies | |
| Supervising solicitor personally involved throughout | Not typical | |
| Clients briefed in writing before tribunal proceedings | Varies | |
| Unhurried approach, no pressure at any stage | Not standard | |
| Remote meetings and family participation supported | Varies |
Distinctive Aspects of the Practice
The Assessement Document as a Working Tool
The eligibility assessment produced at the start of an engagement is not an internal note — it is a working document written for the client, suitable to carry into meetings with pension authorities, share with family members, or pass to other advisers.
A Note on Options After Every Decision
When an authority issues a decision — at any stage — Bodhi Legal prepares a short written note explaining what it means and what options remain. Clients are not left to interpret a decision letter alone.
Proportionate Honesty
Where the strength of a matter does not appear sufficient to support proceedings, we say so — in writing — and explain what the alternatives are. Clients are not encouraged to pursue matters that are unlikely to lead anywhere useful.
Central Bangkok, Accessible by Public Transit
The office at Wireless Road, Lumphini is within walking distance of BTS Ploen Chit and close to MRT connections. For clients who prefer remote meetings, these are arranged without difficulty.
